Ground Hogs......

Postby 13Point » Sat Jul 09, 2011 11:56 am

No other hunting in here in Ohio so we result to popping ground hogs. There is an elderly man that the farmer lets ground hog hunting on his land that Billy and I hunt, in the last week he has taken 28 ground hogs. Hogs and raccoons tear up so much crop it is amazing, what they do is climb the corn stalks until they reach a ear of corn and break the stalk, they leave the corn lay and eat the leaves, These 2 animals destroy almost as much crop as the deer do, a 22-250 put them where they belong>

The Farmer lets a guy hunt coon also, couple summers ago he shot or trapped 93. Shoot been in the 90's here, the hotter the better for me, I lived in New Mexico for 3 years and miss it ever day.

13,
You would love it here in central Texas then, we are having a record for most days over 100 and I don't know what it is but at my house I have had even more than reported, my temperature runs about 3 deg hotter on my thermometer, than official weather reports.

Wow, nice. It has been in the 90's the last couple days here in Ohio. In the plant it is 20 degrees higher, so work is tuff when the temp is at it's highest during the day and early evening, but I'll take it over 2 foot of snow.

13,
I haven't checked the weather yet for when we are going to be there but last time I went to Michigan it got into the 90's there they did not like it none, but when I called home to check on cows it was 113 that day, so the heat just may be there for me. I been looking for a little cooler weather but I don't know how I would handle snow all winter.
