Friday night sitting in stand, was there 5 miinutes and 5 deer are running around like crazy out in the field. I sit and watch, then a button buck came right under me and played around for 20-30 minutes and finally went by. I was watching where he was going and I turned and here comes a huge buck....I can't move to get my bow that is hanging to my left, that was the direction he was coming from, I wait. As he goes by he is on a mission....but stops. I grab my bow and hook my release, his shoulder is behind a tree....but he is slowly moving forward, I draw, all of a sudden my bow releases at half draw, I didn't have my release hooked correctly.....buck gone till another day! I seen a total of 15 deer last night, but only 1 shooter buck and I messed that up. Oh well I will get him soorner or later, I bow hunted with fingers for 30 or more years, shouldn't of changed to release!

I have had a lot of strange things happen also but not at half draw, stuck my finger on release once a little too hard and shot the arrow over the trees.... Thats part of the challenge of bow hunting. But I do like using a release over fingers may be just lazy but don't have to practice as much with a release.
