Ohio Bow 2012

Postby 13Point » Mon Sep 03, 2012 9:47 am

Bow starts Sept 29th here in Ohio, I hope to be out of boot by then but if not I have ladders to my stands and will be able to get in the stand. It's finally getting cool here in the mornings, 67 degrees so it should be good hunting.

Sounds good we are still around 80 in the mornings here. Good luck this year, we start on Sept. 29 also but I will miss the opener, going to be fishing sharkathon that weekend.

Can't wait for bow this year. I've been on 5, 6, and 7 days a week for about 2 months now so I'm hoping it winds down soon so I can have my weekends off again. i am loving this overtime and the money, but with no house sold and only coming home 1 or 2 days a week, it's starting to get tough. I'm on vacation this week for some much needed time home so it's nice. Woke up this morning and it was 58 degrees outside. Deer season is right around the corner.

It was 49 degrees out here in the country this morning. I will be in the stand even though have to wear boot outside and on any uneven surface, rehab until Oct 5th, but I can still make it happen........

I wouldn't want to hunt in that heat, not crazy about Ohio but except for Military I have been here all my life, I like the changing seasons. Hope Billy gets to hunt a little more this year but he builds the Focus and they can't build enough of them, so we will see. Another year we will be taking my little guy (Ian) out to the forest as he calls it to start learning to hunt.....it will be just like when I took Billy at 4, I had to threaten to take him home to Mom becasue he was so loud and non-stop talking...... :P

13 Hope Billy can hunt more this year also, but good he is working. Yea it is always interesting taking little ones hunting no telling what is going to happen. I will hunt when it cools down a bit.

We're all hoping I get to hunt more this year. We shall see. With my little boy, we're gonna be threatening to take home to mom the whole time. He is non-stop when it comes to talking. 2 more weeks and we will be in the stands ready to go. Gonna take the boy in the morning to ride out to the woods with me so I can check stands. If the rain holds off. Then we're off to Michigan to stay with friends for the night and look at some houses on saturday. Found an 8 acre wooded parcel up there for a great price, hoping the realtor can get me in to look at that as well while we're up there.

Good deal Billy
hope you find a house, the young ones can be a hand full but it's a little more funny in 15 years when you look back.

Had my son in the stand one time he was about 5 some does came out he saw them after a couple of minutes he asked if I was going to shoot one I told him no they were doe ,all we could legally shoot was bucks, he asked can you make jerky out of doe, I laughed and they ran off.
