And another year begins

Postby billy8point » Wed Aug 10, 2011 11:50 pm

September 24th is opening day of bow this year. I'm praying I'm not getting deployed so i don't have to miss it, or the entire season. If I miss opening day it will be the first time in 18 years...Hoping to actually get a deer this year. I should have a good amount more time to hunt this year rather than what I had the past couple since I finally got a new job. I work afternoon shift so I will be limited more to the weekends, but I have beenw orking a lot of overtime in hopes that my counterpart will work some weekends so i can hunt.

Yep. Started going out with dad with a crossbow when i was 5. Had a stand with a rail around it because I couldn't hold the crossbow up by myself. Dad probably had to screw in about 50 tree steps for my short little legs to get up in the tree too. Dad's a couple inches shorter than I am and there's still a few stands where I can barely get my leg high enough to get to the next step.
