MEC 650

Get A Hot Load Or Pass One On

MEC 650

Postby GoTres » Sun Apr 17, 2005 2:48 am

I just won an eBay auction for a MEC 650. I've been loading on a single stage MEC 600 Jr and getting the job done, but three boxes an hour was about all I could manage. I'm hoping to at least double my production.

I used to really enjoy reloading but I've been shooting a lot lately and spending 1-1/2 to 2 hours loading shells for one round of clays was starting to get old.

I used to have a MEC loader for 410 until a roommate borrowed it. As expensive as those shells are, you can really save some money loading them yourself.

The hulls can be hard to find though unless you're saving your once-fired's.

watch old snipe he forgot to mention that with his recipe you have to stand next to a tree or pick your self up after each shot  have fun with that loader, i still have a single but i guess i have nothing but time or i am to cheap to buy another

I hope it wasn't you Snipe, but you'd have known it. GoTres is my screen name on there too.

I'd gotten beat out of one on Wednesday or Thursday because of my dang slow dial up but I think the auction I won is a better loader. The one I missed out on didn't have an automatic primer feeder. Man I'll be glad when DSL gets to my neighborhood.

Yeah, that 1550 makes me hurt just thinking about it. Thanks anyway, but I'm fine with my slow shells. Don't have the chart in front of me but I think I'm getting about 1200 fps. It's a 34 bushing w/Red Dot & a Win209.
